With nearly two decades of legal experience, John Terpin is a seasoned advocate for clients injured by the negligence of others. Admitted to the Washington State Bar in 2006, John has represented thousands of clients across Washington State and in federal courts, focusing his practice on personal injury litigation, while also handling family law, immigration, and estate planning matters.

Experienced Attorney in Seattle
John began his career in Seattle handling family-based immigration, asylum, and removal proceedings, later expanding into general civil and criminal practice. Over the years, he developed a reputation for strong courtroom advocacy and effective negotiation, successfully litigating and resolving cases ranging from automobile collisions to complex civil disputes. His experience includes depositions, arbitrations, trials, and appeals, as well as supervising and mentoring paralegals and junior attorneys.

Background and Education
In 2015, John founded Terpin Law, PLLC, where he managed all aspects of law firm operations while maintaining an active litigation practice. He later served as an associate with leading Seattle firms, where he deepened his focus on personal injury cases, including claims against insurance carriers. At Park Chenaur & Associates, John now brings that extensive background and his unwavering commitment to client service to the firm’s personal injury practice.
John earned his Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School in 2006, where he participated in the Immigration Law Clinic and served as a research assistant to Professor Anthony P. Farley. His published law review article, Illinois v. Caballes: Providing Pretext for Civil Rights Abuse, reflects his early dedication to protecting civil liberties. He graduated cum laude from Miami University of Ohio with a Bachelor of Music, where he was active in the Honors Program and recipient of the Christopher Huff Memorial Award.
Advocate, Musician & Community Leader
In addition to his legal practice, John has served on the nonprofit board of the Seattle Action Network and remains engaged in the community. A former adjunct professor of music and a freelance trombone player, he enjoys performing and producing music, as well as spending time outdoors in the Pacific Northwest.
